Instructions for applying for a fee exempt DEA can be found below.

** Please note, a fee exempt DEA is only valid at the exempting institution and any affiliate hospital rotations within the scope of training.

If a you are approved to moonlight, you will need to obtain a paid status DEA.

erx Process (UCLA)

We would encourage you to enroll in electronic prescribing (eRx or PECOS).

To enroll in e-prescribing at UCLA/SM-UCLA, please email Areli Gonzalez (RESIDENTS) or your program coordinator (FELLOWS) a copy of your DEA certificate. They will then create a ticket for the Physician Billing Office to begin the PECOS enrollment process.
