  • A World Health Organization manual highly recommended for residents during global health electives: Pocket Book of Hospital Care for Children: Guidelines for the Management of Common Illnesses with Limited Resources. Available on Amazon, FREE PDF in several languages, or also as an app through iTunes and Google Play

  • Atlas of Pediatrics in the Tropics by Jonathan M. Spector, MD, MPH, FAAP and Timothy E. Gibson, MD, FAAP. A convenient take-along guide to the full spectrum of more than 80 pediatric tropical diseases and conditions.

  • Textbook of Global Child Health by Deepak M Kamat MD PhD FAAP and Phillip R Fischer MD FAAP. A comprehensive reference that combines travel medicine, practicing medicine in other countries; and review of diseases endemic in the tropics and resource-limited areas.

    • The Global Health eLearning Center developed by the USAID Bureau of Global Health provides access to technical public health information.
